Message from DIS-CHEM to our members
Dis-Chem, the Society’s Designated Service Provider for chronic medicine, has asked that we share the following with our members:
In this time of immense uncertainty, in an environment where the situation and outlook changes daily, Dis-Chem is committed to ensuring seamless service delivery to our customers.
We will continue with operations to the best of our ability and circumstances. Community pharmacies are an essential front-line access point for the public who require medicines, advice, information and possible referral to medical practitioners or hospitals. As such we will continue to do everything we can to protect our pharmacy personnel so that we can keep our doors open and atthe same time provide a safe environment for our customers needing pharmaceutical care.
As the Dis-Chem Group, keeping our customers and our staff safe is our key priority. As such, we have implemented preventative measures aligned to guidelines from the Department of Health), National Institute for Communicable Diseases and World Health Organisation.
In terms of hygiene, stores are deep cleaned on an on-going basis with sanitizing solutions used in high-touch, high-traffic areas and we’re focusing in particular on our clinics and dispensaries. We also have staff dedicated to cleaning key areas throughout the day, and we’re sending additional supplies for use at tills and for baskets and trollies. Staff have been trained to implement regular, thorough hand washing and sanitisation between serving customers.
The Dis-Chem Group is dedicated to keeping stores stocked and prices fair. Please note that as per current legislation, only essential products will be available in our stores during this time. We’reworking hard to replenish cleaning supplies, paper products, and other in-demand items as quickly as possible—and at our everyday low prices.
We are asking customers to remain considerate of others, and not buy more than they need. We are limiting quantities, per customer.
We are doing everything in our power to provide you with a safe shopping and dispensing experience, and a healthy environment for our staff and communities. We believe the current measures we have put in place are sufficient to ensure availability of stock and to minimise any disruption, and we are constantly monitoring the situation across all our operations.
Our delivery and on-line services are under strain but remain fully operational and we are making contingency plans to increase delivery capacity via our courier pharmacy Dis-Chem Direct (direct@dischem.co.za, tel: 011 589 2788); and our on-line platforms.
