COVID Vaccine Rollout

The National Department of Health (NDoH) has opened its Electronic Vaccine Data System (EVDS) for registration in terms of Phase 2 of the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, with vaccination of people over the age of 60 expected to take place from May 2021 onwards.

ACTION REQUIRED FROM YOU

If you (and/or a registered dependant) are 60 years or older, please visit the EVDS webpage to register for your vaccination. (Those younger than age 60 cannot register as yet.)

As you and your registered dependants may fall into different rollout phases, the Society will send further communication about the registration process for the other groups as information becomes available.

As the Covid-19 vaccine is a Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB), it will be covered in full by the Society.

Although Covid-19 vaccination is not compulsory, we urge you to get vaccinated – not only for your sake, but also for those around you.

Please remember to stagger the flu and Covid-19 vaccines. Although there is currently no scientific evidence about the potential safety or harm of having a flu and Covid-19 vaccine within the same time frame, experts recommend a gap of at least two weeks between receiving the different vaccines to ensure both vaccines are optimised.
